Clever Ideas for Spacious Rooms
Designing generous, open spaces is fun! Here, we opted for an open room concept with a wall in cutting-edge concrete look behind the washstand. Warmth and cosiness come from up-to-date, super matt surfaces on the fronts, as well as from the natural wood decor, which in this case originates from the new Kronospan collection. In addition, the room can be accentuated with inserted light elements. The built-in handle in concrete look matches the back wall and rounds off the harmonious overall impression.
Lighten up!
A generous use of LED elements direct the view to a room’s highlights. Our aluminium lighting profiles Sub Line or the plastic lighting channels Eco Line are ideal here. For darker surfaces, there are LED profiles with a black anodised surface. The profiles are available with a black plastic cover as well, so that the lights blend harmoniously into the overall effect of the furniture. For the illumination itself, we offer a large selection of LED strips, such as our LED strip ECOflex.
LED Strip ECOflex, 12V DC
The flexible, self-adhesive 12 volt LED lighting strips can be cut as required and are excellent for indirectly lighting furniture. The small distance between the individual LEDs ensures a uniform illumination. Thanks to the M1 plug connection, the strip can be combined easily and quickly with different accessories from the OSTERMANN range.
Aluminium lighting profile Sub Line 1+, mounting profile
The aluminium profile with a matt plastic cover is combined with a LED lighting strip. The profiles are ideally suited to create background or direct accent lighting in furniture. They protect the LED strip from dust and moisture.
Industrial look at its finest
Clear, modern and easy to combine - concrete surfaces are all the rage. Nowadays, the grey “industrial” look can no longer be found exclusively on walls, but also as a decor in nearly all of the board manufacturers’ collections. The popularity of the design is reflected in our range, where we now offer even handles and handleless systems with a concrete look.
The popular surface must of course not be missing in our example. On the wall behind the wash basin, the smooth, medium grey version of our concrete decor surface RollBeton was applied. Since RollBeton is fabricated manually, every sheet is unique, making the material appear all the more authentic. In order to continue the style on the furniture, the basin cabinet was equipped with the handleless systems Polka 1 Deco and Polka 2 Deco with a “concrete” finish.
Our tip:
When applying this concrete surface in the bathroom, we recommend to also use the “Wet-room seal RollBeton”, which was made for the product.
Zero Bondline Edgings with TPU Functional Layer – Perfect for the Bathroom
A splash here - a drop there... Bathroom and other furniture exposed to increased humidity must have good water and heat resistance. The OSTERMANN experts therefore recommend zero bondline edgings with TPU functional layer when processing furniture with edgebanding machines for modern zero joint technologies. The functional layer consists of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), i.e. of 100% plastic. Due to the hardness of the functional layer, the joint will not deteriorate over the longer term. This leads to excellent properties for the extended use of the finished workpiece. Numerous in-house tests have shown the high water resistance.
New collections
Kronospan - Trends 20/21
2020 is a year with many new collections. One example is the new Kronospan collection “Trends 20/21” - its new additions were presented under the name “City Vibes”. As Kronospan announced, designers and architects from Spain, Italy, Russia and Poland participated in the development of the collection. The 4 cities Barcelona, Milan, Moscow and Warsaw represent selected urban trends and styles, which can be implemented by applying the new surfaces. Most notably, you will find different oak reproductions and material reproductions among the 27 new decors. For the wood decors in our application example, we opted for the new Kronospan decor K358 PW Honey Castello Oak with the ABS edging 046.1241 Honey Castello Oak wood pore.
Swiss Krono - One World Collection 2020
The new Swiss Krono “One World Collection 2020” includes 223 surfaces with 7 new plain decors, 22 new wood decors and 18 new design decors. The appeal of the uni decors lies in their velvety matt appearance. In the selection of wood decors, you will find oak reproductions, but also a striking number of ash and lime finishes. Fantasy decors stand out with a combination of wood and metallic or graphic elements. There are further some new metal and stone reproductions.
