A Perfect Fit: the Matching Table
The end customer is thrilled about his special cupboard. Our customer gets back to work straightaway to start building the matching table. Learn here how both objects are harmoniously matched, and which table fittings are used.
Real Wood - or isn't it?
Since the table is supposed to match the appearance of the cupboard, the same decor that was then applied for the edgings is now once again used for the surface and the edgings of the tabletop. With the naked eye, the selected decor Nordic Pine wooden structured is barely distinguishable from real wood. To give the table a light and modern appearance while still fitting it with enough stability, a board thickness of 43 mm was chosen. The 1 mm thick ABS edging Nordic Pine is applied carefully with PUR hotmelt adhesive, creating a practically invisible join and reinforcing the mentioned wood effect.
Our Tip:
Use PUR hotmelt adhesive to achieve particularly thin joins which, at the same time, are even more resistant to water and heat. If the edgebanding machine is adjusted as good as possible, including an ideal adhesive application, "optical zero bondlines" are possible.
Cards on the Table
After edging the tabletop, the table frame is affixed. Here, a modern U-shape with a currently popular matt finish was selected; the black colour blends into the room and reflects the dark fronts of the cupboard. The table frame consists of three separate pillars that are plugged together. The table legs can be adjusted within a range of 5 mm to balance irregularities and uneven surfaces.
