PUR Training Obligation
According to the European Chemicals Regulation (REACH for short), anyone who processes certain PUR products containing isocyanates must provide evidence of having completed appropriate training from the 24th of August 2023. The aim of this regulation is to make sure that these versatile products are handled correctly and safely.
Which products require training?
Specifically, the training obligation applies to the industrial and commercial use of all PUR products that have an isocyanate content of more than 0.1 % of the total product.
PUR training? It's quite simple.
The required training can be conducted online on an E-LEARNING PLATFORM in the respective national language. A guide will help you choose the right training. It consists of a theoretical part followed by multiple-choice questions. If enough questions are answered correctly, you will receive a personal online certificate. This must be renewed every 5 years. Further information can also be found on the WEBSITE of FEICA, the Association of the European Adhesive & Sealant Industry.
To participate in a training course, you must register in advance with your personal data. Although you will be asked for billing information when you register, you can take part in the training free of charge by using the voucher code "FEICA_21_G".
Want an alternative?
More and more manufacturers are now offering PUR products with a reduced quantity of free isocyanates. No training is required for these products. You will find an overview of the training-free alternatives HERE in the online shop.
