Large Living Area
Plenty of Space to Live and Enjoy.
It's getting spacious ... In the following, we will present to you the development of a particularly roomy living and dining room combination with an integrated kitchen. As you can see, the large space was rather demanding in terms of creativity and individual solutions. How do you achieve an elegant division of living and dining area? How do you make the design of the kitchen as homely as possible, so that it integrates into the large living space?
In our example, we decided for a central kitchen block that also functions as a partition between dining room and living area. This way, you can see the seating area in the living room while preparing meals, and the modern eating area is only a few arm's lengths away.
How to Conjure up a Loft Look in Your Rooms
When designing our big, high and open room, we spontaneously had to think of lofts - those old warehouses or industrial buildings converted into hip living spaces. To transfer the allure of these old buildings into our modern apartment, the walls around the kitchen block were clad with our flexible concrete surface RollBeton.
Handleless systems in concrete look create a visual connection to the living room wall that was also designed with RollBeton.
Additional industrial charm in the room was achieved by attaching a Smartcube shelving system to the ceiling. Plates and glasses are ready for use, while still looking decorative on their "perch". Additionally, LED profiles were built into the shelves to highlight the construction with beautiful illumination.
Plenty of Wood. Lots of Light. Ample Storage.
As a contrast to the rather cool design of the kitchen area, the large wall unit in the living room picks up the black colour scheme, but also brings in warmth through wooden surfaces. Lamello Clamex P-14 plastic furniture connectors were used for the construction, giving particularly strong but invisible surface, corner and dividing panel connections. At the customer's, the assembly of the individual elements is done quickly and with no need for tools.
The shelves above the glass display case are covered with the same wood veneer as the large fronts on the left part of the wall unit. In the picture on the left, you can see the black coloured oak wood veneer edging, brought out nicely on the shelves of the wall unit. The new black coloured oak wood veneer edging offers you a wide range of design options for individual interiors with a feel-good factor. The finish is a natural and homogeneously coloured through real oak veneer. The base layers are made of fineline veneers.
Same as for the bottom panels of the Smartcube shelf above the kitchen block, Sub Line lighting profiles were built in here to additionally highlight the wall shelf.
